My Thoughts on Portal 2

I had been meaning to get this game for a long time because of the videos I've seen ages ago of a few people playthroughing this game probably within the first few weeks that it had come out last year.

Finally after a little over a year later, I have that chance. With a few days before Valentines Day, I was contemplating on what to do with my boyfriend, Jubjub.Then I thought back to how Portal 2 has a cooperative game mode and figured we could do that. So Valentines Day, I went ahead and bought the Portal 2 two pack (50% off thanks to a coupon I got from steam's Christmas event ;D)

We played through the cooperative and I've managed to record up to three hours of our gameplay together. We both enjoyed this game mode, not just for the clever puzzles, but for also the gestures we would perform, sometimes on each other (which you will see soon when I upload it to youtube.)

Few days later, being the weekend and Jubjub still offline, I decided to take the time to endulge in the Portal 2's main story line.

I had just finished the main story line and can honestly say that the gameplay and story is utterly amazing. Though puzzle games aren't my cup of tea, I enjoyed managing through the countless puzzles that the game throws at you. Not only does this game offers great gameplay and nice brain teasing puzzles, but the story line offers intriguing and memorable characters like Wheatly, and of course, Glados. It also offers nice surprises much like Glados' revival and plot twists like.... well, I won't spoil just what exactly happens, so you'll either have the option of either looking up the story or do what I did the day it came out and watch a playthrough :P

What kept me going, what drove me from start to finish is the story line. The game starts off to (literally) a rude awakening, while introducing a new character and immediately throwing the player back into the test chambers from the first portal, bringing back memories from the first game. Then in the end, you are faced with a boss battle with the antagonist and soon afterwards, much like the first game, it sends you off with a song. I can say that the ending left me feeling utterly content.

My overall opinion of the game is highly positive. I highly recommend it to any one. You don't necessarily have to be a fan of the first Portal game to enjoy it for what it is. If you enjoy a great story line, puzzles, or even better, both, then you will be able to enjoy this game for it's entirety.

Winter Break

During my winter break, I have experienced what I would like to call the best days of my life. 

Some of you who watched some of my Team Fortress 2 montages should be familiar with a person who was practically the star of most of those montages and took the heat of most my antics in our regular server. The name Jubjub should ring some bells. For the many of you that don't know, he's my boyfriend xD 

This past winter break, he flew down here to see me. He stayed from December 27th to January 2nd. Though a bit of a short time it may have been, it was the best week of our lives.

Through out the week, we've a number of things (which I wished I took some pictures of,) one of which we hiked up Koko head and nearly killed our legs xD We also went body boarding and I nearly ate every single wave because I'm rusty like that lol. Jubjub never went body boarding until that day and he rode almost every wave like a champ :I 

Though I wished I could have documented our moments together a bit better, I'm just happy after so many months behind a computer screen, we finally met each other face to face. 

I would like to mention more that happened during our week together, but the nyquil won't stop nagging at my eye lids to close xD

Alas

Months has passed since I've posted anything here on this site. I suppose the lack of updates, school, and other personal updates are to blames, but then again I'm not much of a blogger to be honest :P

So not much new to be honest with the whole recording commentary. I suppose I can do flash games to entertain for a while but I'll need help and guidance to find decent ones that'll entertain fairly and are bound to generate some good reactions as I play through it.

And if you're wondering: "How goes it with the whole recording issue you've been having for over a year?" Well, eh-heh... I needed to direct my money on more personal matters but believe me, I miss entertaining those on youtube. It's surprising to me just how much people are still subscribing to me event the last playthrough I did was of a flash game and that was back in summer time o_O I figured since the hiatus that people would begin to unsubscribe me because of my lack of content. However, I am still very grateful that I am still attracting people to my channel. Although it's not at the rate that other people have but it's still something to grin a bit about, right?

So to those who do read my blog (which I'm sure not too many do xD) and is subscribed to me, I thank my old watchers for sticking around and I welcome my new ones with open arms. I apologize that I have to express my gratitude in a blog post rather than a video but I'll be working on one just in case some don't see this blog and pretty much cover a bit of what's here. Why aren't a I doing a video? I'm a bit sick and plus my brain's not functioning properly to perform well in front of a camera xD

Though this is just an option, I encourage my watchers to watch my blogspot if they wish. If not, that is fine too because I always upload a little video to my youtube in case I decide to post any youube related updates here. But if you wish to know what goes on, and to make sure I'm not dead or anything, xD I post something up here from life from time to time. Basically write about life in general like any other mundane blogger. I'll also be posting up some of the "interesting" comments I would get from time to time. For the sakes of these people that are commenting, I will have their user names censored like for example:

Ayaa... I have quite a bit of more "colorful" comments than this and I thought would be entertaining to share with whomever is interested.

Alas, it is midnight here and I have class tomorrow. Also, the nyquil is starting to kick in @.@ I will post up another blog that's non youtube related. I guess, it's basically life :P Alrighty, until next time guys....
